2022 Celebrity Dinner
The 34th Annual Celebrity Dinner & Memorabilia Auction
Rounding the bases for a “WIN” Against Cancer!
The 2022 Celebrity Dinner and Memorabilia Auction was held on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Mohegan Sun. This year’s “WIN” Dinner highlighted CCF’s connection to baseball akin to rounding the bases of cancer and coming home for a WIN against cancer. Featuring NY Yankee All-Stars Chris Chambliss at 1st base (cancer diagnosis), Willie Randolph at 2nd base (cancer treatment), Graig Nettles at 3rd base (financial hardship) –and striving for Homeplate for a “WIN” against cancer – Hall of Famer Johnny Bench! All played in the 1976 World Series! Emcee Bobby Valentine, former MLB player and manager added his flair and baseball expertise to the SPECTACULAR Sports Program.
Together we rounded the bases with our legendary sports celebrities for a “WIN” for CT cancer patients. An incredible achievement at this challenging time! It was a night to remember filled with delicious food, unique auction items, a lively fundraising appeal and a fun Q & A with the players. Together with the Mohegan Tribe, Mohegan Sun, MLB stars, many valued sponsors, and amazing volunteers; our community raised more than $460,000 toward alleviating the financial hardships Connecticut cancer patients and their families endure. THANK YOU and we look forward to seeing you next year on February 24, 2023!
